Clarins Ever Matte Skin Balancing Foundation

10:22 AM

Hello, sweeties!
We all know foundation is one of the steps many girls can’t skip while doing their make up.
I’ve been using the same foundation for the whole summer and fall (that's why the packaging is a bit damaged), but now it’s getting a little too dark for my skin, my tan is slowly fading. It's time to tell you what I think about it.

The foundation I’m talking about is the Clarins Ever Matte Skin Balancing Foundation (SPF 15 - Oil Free).

Talking about foundations, I always tend to buy high-end products, and I'd say I'm really demanding.
This product isn't disappointing but I expected something more. Let's tell you why.

Firstly, this is a medium-coverage foundation, created for those people who have oily skin. Since I am one of those people, always looking for something to keep me matte the whole day, I gave this product a try.
It does keep my skin matte even though it’s not a 24h lasting foundation: it still lasts 4-5 hours (with powder on) without melting or moving around my face.
My pores look smaller as well but the medium-coverage of this product doesn’t really cover my spots, therefore I have to use a concealer or a corrector.
It does a good job with redness, though: I have so much redness, especially around the nose and the cheeks, and this product is really a miracle. However, I noticed that my spots and imperfections get a little irritated through the day, especially on the 5th or 6th hour with the foundation on.

On the price side, this foundation is €33,95 in Italy while in the UK it's £27.00 and in the USA $35.00.

To sum up, I’m not repurchasing it, since I’d like to try some new foundations with a better coverage.
I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed by this foundation, but it’s not my favorite so far.

Do you have any advice on foundations for oily skin?

See you soon xx

  1. Although Clarins has an amazing skincare line, I'm not so sure about the makeup! I'd say give the MAC Studio Fix Fluid a try! <3

    1. That's exactly what made me love/hate this foundation. It isn't a bad product, but it's too expensive for its quality.
You're welcome, feel free to come back here sometimes! xx
